The Presbyterian Global Fellowship dreams about a missional church, distinctively Presbyterian, which sees God at work all around us and all around the world. We dream of a church that humbly opens itself to the faith and faithfulness of the global Body of Christ. We dream of a church that engages our energy, our creativity and our resources in all “The Great Ends of the Church” as they are described in our tradition.
The first major event of this emerging fellowship of congregations calls like-minded Presbyterians, both pastors and lay leaders, to come together to explore how to get on with the church’s missional purpose. Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, will host the gathering on August 17-19, 2006.
The conference is structured to provide opportunities for dialogue with and feedback from participants in plenary, workshops and other less structured venues as we explore together how to reclaim the missional purpose of the church.
The conference worship, plenary and workshops will focus on:
- Becoming global Christians
- Growing missional congregations
- Training missional leaders
- Fostering “whole life” discipleship among all believers
We humbly and prayerfully issue this call to join with us, confessing our own sinfulness and dependence upon the grace of God.
